$23.00 -- $30.00 per hour starting pay;medical, dental and vision insurance; long-term disability insurance and life insurance;Municipal Employees' Retirement System of Michigan (MERS) retirement plan;paid vacation, paid sick time, and paid major holidays;full-time Monday -- Friday position working 8:00am -- 5:00pm;development/promotion to Transit Director position within 12-18 months for the right candidate.WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Budget Oversight. Assist with preparing and administering operating funds, capital grants, budgets, and service contracts ensuring responsible financial stewardship.*Oversee and Dispatch Transit Drivers. *Implement initial and ongoing training; monitor work schedules; ensure compliance with drug/alcohol policies, CDL licensing, and other governing regulations.Monitor transit operations, document activities, prepare reports required by MDOT and FTA. Additionally, assist with departmental bookkeeping, statistics, and performance indicators.*Purchasing and Procurement. *Prepare specifications and seek quotes/bids/RFPs for supplies, equipment, and vehicles.Policy Administration. Prepare and administer operational/procedural policies for transit in accordance with state and federal regulations. Serve as Drug and Alcohol Program Administrator.Asset Management. Manage transit assets and maintenance plans (inspections, service, repairs).Conduct Accident/Incident Investigations. Investigate and document findings; respond to and resolve complaints/issues raised by transit customers and the public.*Committee Participation. *Represent transit dept. and coordinating activities with various committees.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
A genuine commitment to enhancing public transit within our city.Previous supervisory experience required.
