Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Application Support Engineer for a large health insurance client of ours. This role is a member of the NextGen Production Support Team that manages production processes, focusing on provider data, to include support of additional processes such as Claim Payment, Capitation, EOBs, as well as broader support of HRP. This individual must possess the technical skills required to implement process improvements to increase efficiency and process simplification. This individual will interact with business partners, delivery, infrastructure, and software vendor partners to maintain concierge level support. They must have the ability to work across teams and applications to lead efforts to monitor/manage processes, as well as troubleshoot and resolve production issues. They must be able to work in fast-paced environment with critical thinking skills and a mindset for continuous improvement.
In this role, responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Monitoring systems, applications, processes to meet the availability goals and to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction, with a focus on the implementation of improvements to simplify overall processing
Required to be on call support 24x7 as needed on a rotation basis.
Participate in infrastructure maintenance and application releases.
Maintain system support documentation.
Adhere to all established methodologies, standards, and guidelines.
Responsible for various aspects of event, incident, problem and change management.
Maintain and monitor daily / weekly processes and programs in production environment.
Foster a positive environment and demonstrate successful relationship building with cross-functional teams and business partners.
Organizational skills, to work in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects and tasks concurrently
Competent, self-starter with ability to identify and bring forward ideas to improve the overall support of Medicare platform.
Skills and Requirements
* At least 5 years professional experience within Application Support/Production support for enterprise level applications
* Production Support work experience, analytical skills for business reported issues.
* Experience w/ Linux/Unix for main support work
* Experience w/ Shell scripting
* Extensive experience w/ SQL for building new queries for analysis with Oracle and DB2 databases.
* Ideas around simplifying/automating processes -- very manual and want to minimize the support. * Medicare/health insurance background a plus
* Bach Degree null
