Prudential Financial, Inc. is seeking an Actuarial Associate for the Pricing and Rating Tools team supporting the Company's Group Insurance business. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and communication skills with an attention to detail and be able to collaborate successfully with other members of the actuarial staff, as well as with the Group Insurance Underwriting, Finance, Reporting and Corporate actuarial areas to achieve optimum results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Partnering with Underwriting and Pricing Actuaries to support existing rating tools while developing an understanding of pricing methodologies
• Perform regression and baseline testing of existing rating tools
• Support ad-hoc requests for data analysis and pricing sensitivity
• Provide QA testing of enterprise rating system (PRIME)
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or other highly quantitative field
• Superior technical skills and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models
• Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel including VBA, SQL and MS Access
• 1 or more years of actuarial experience preferred
• Proven strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
• Strong communication skills to be able to explain complex concepts to non-actuarial business partners
• Strong team player, willing to perform in roles that assist as well as lead
This position is based in Newark, NJ/hybrid.
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $64,900.00 to $96,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
