This position is responsible for leading the Accounts Receivable team and their daily operations. This position is responsible for building strong teamwork among the employees and providing excellent customer service for internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for supervising the AR team, overseeing the daily operations of accounts receivable department, and providing expertise and leadership for applicable Oracle applications.
In addition, this position is accountable for the timely month-end close process as well as helping find resolution to month-end account reconciliation questions. Ensures that accounts receivable processes are documented and maintained, providing a safe, rapid, and smooth transition of data.
Supervises the AR Team (2 employees):
• Directs the daily workflow of the department, prioritizing work and ensuring deadlines are met
• Oversees department performance metrics ensuring accurate and timely billing and collection
• Oversee accounts receivable month-end close process including oversight over accounts receivable and order management systems
• Subject matter expert on accounts receivable systems, policies and procedures
• Partners with IT to improve system functionality and ensure efficient processes
• Partner with cross-functional teams to meet the strategic goals of the department and the business
• Serves as the primary support and backup for all daily functions of the Accounts Receivable Staff
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
• Organize periodic training on billing system and processes
Billing and Invoicing Process:
• Ensures customer billing documents are distributed to customers in a timely manner
• Communicates timely with clients about billing discrepancies and questions
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure billing documents are accurate. This includes working with our IT Partners to resolve system errors.
• Holds cross-functional teams accountable for activity that impacts the timeliness and accuracy of billing provided to customers.
Cash Application & Collections:
• Verifies cash application is occurring daily and is recorded accurately.
• Leads the collection efforts, including frequent reviews of the aging report to ensure the team is making progress on past due accounts. This includes performing collection calls on their accounts as well as assisting team members on their accounts.
• Compiles or reviews the monthly daily sales outstanding calculation and high-level notes needed for month end financial reporting meeting and packages.
Skills & Qualifications:
4+ years of AR experience in billing and cash applications
2+ years of working in a large ERP, Oracle highly preferred (others, SAP, Dynamics, etc)
2+ years of utilizing Excel, pivot tables, v-lookups
2+ years of holding some level of management position, lead, supervisor, etc.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
