Are you looking to make an impact? The work you will do will directly impact the international financial reporting at Splunk, across a footprint of +30 locations internationally.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager who can lead our accounting team in India, support accounting closes and focus on financial reporting of our international entities while we continue to grow our global accounting function and strive to reach our goal of hitting $10 billion and beyond.
You will work closely with dynamic and fast-paced accounting and finance teams globally to support international statutory financial reporting. You may assist in researching technical accounting guidance and conclude on accounting topics. In addition, you will have the opportunity to help develop efficient and scalable processes that will enable the accounting team to keep pace with Splunk's tremendous growth and collaborate with various functions - HR, Tax, Legal, Payroll, FP&A, Facilities - across the organization internationally.
Your key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Accounting Execution and Project Management
Help build and lead a shared service function on statutory reporting and continue to enhance and develop scalable statutory accounting processes.Manage the assigned statutory financials to be prepared timely, accurately, and in compliance with Local GAAP requirements in collaboration with local providers.Oversee and manage the year-end audit process including planning and the preparation of various analyses and documentation.Manage India entity's statutory audit process, managing with auditors and accounting service providers to ensure audit deadlines are met on time.Knowledge of India's statutory filing requirements and working with various departments to ensure the filings are submitted within the deadlineKnowledge of technical accounting topics and provide guidance on the proper recording in the general ledger and related financial statement presentation.Identification of business matters and processes that impact the interpretation of the accounting literature through inquiry with the appropriate departmental partners within the organization.Evaluate and implement processes for efficiency and automation.Lead special projects or ad-hoc reporting requests.Own and manage certain monthly/quarterly closing processes.Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of existing and new accounting and international reporting/accounting guidelines.Provide in-depth technical accounting analysis and memorandums.People Management and Development
Demonstrate ability to provide professional leadership to the accounting team.Provide professional development opportunities for the accounting team, including external and internal training to build strong teamwork and a high degree of organizational collaboration.Demonstrate skill in developing direct reports.Communicate organizational goals and objectives; motivate, develop, and train team members to complete commitments.Manage and supervise the activities of the team to ensure their work meets goals and performance objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Relevant accounting certifications such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, and CA from ICAI, are preferred.Public accounting/Audit experience is strongly preferred.8+ years of relevant professional experience, and 3+ years of leading and managing others, is required (combination of private and public experience preferred); deep understanding of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and The Indian Accounting Standards.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365, including Excel skills (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, graphs, data manipulation/analysis, and formula creation)Strong attention to detail with an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.Strong work ethic and ability to operate with the highest level of integrity.Proven leadership ability and willingness to lead and manage others.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.Analytical approach and problem-solving skills to identify and address financial reporting issues.Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, departments, and customers.Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well-written memorandums and presentations articulating these matters to both well-versed accountants and non-finance stakeholders.Experience with SAP Hana (ERP) is preferred.We value diversity, equity, and inclusion at Splunk and are an equal employment opportunity employer. Base Pay Range
India
Base Pay: INR 2,560,000.00 - 3,520,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
