About #3 Operator in Bindery - 2nd shift

  We are hiring a #3 Bindery Operator for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a #3 Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for performing set-up tasks, monitoring the equipment and troubleshooting on our Core Publishing Solutions team. For this role, you would also be eligible for $2,500 in bonuses upon being in the role for 90 days.

  Hours of Work - Eagan, Minnesota

  2nd shift - 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm

  Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts

  About the Role: In this opportunity as a #3 Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for:

  Reviewing job specifications for material and set-up requirementsPerforming set-up tasksMonitoring the equipment and product quality; obtaining maintenance support for equipment as neededPerforming simple to moderately complex trouble-shooting related to product or equipmentCommunicating effectively during shift and at shift hand-offEvaluating mechanical condition of equipment, completing preventative maintenanceMay use computer-based workflows applications to manage filesAccurately documenting activities on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), i.e., material usage, equipment issues, etcMay perform feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling or physical inventory cycle count activitiesActively participating in company safety programs and contributing to a safe cultureMeeting or exceeding established quality and productivity standards utilizing standard work proceduresGenerating, implementing and sustaining continuous improvement ideasParticipating in project teams as neededProviding back up for other operators to cover absences or breaksRecommending and implementing process improvements

  About You:

  Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher. Candidates with a vocational/technical degree are strongly preferredGood mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, and work independently and as part of a team to resolve issuesKnowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvementCompetent with rulers and measurementGood communication skillsExperience on Perfect Binders with up to 40 station collators, 3-knife trimmers, inline boxing and palletizingExperience with hard-cover casing-in lines, collating/kitting lines with up to 30 streamfeeder stations, packaging/cartooning lines, Sitma mail lines, Aster sewing equipment and hot foil stampersAble to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and production ordersCan regularly lift at least 5 lbs. above the shoulder as well as push, pull and lift at least 10 lbs occasionally up to 50 lbsCan regularly stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach and kneelCan wear Personal Protective Equipment including steel toe shoes and ear protectionAble to pass a background check and drug test, as applicable for the role
