  We are seeking to hire a summer intern to work in the Network Systems Department of the Aerospace Corporation. The Network Systems Department is involved with the entire process of system acquisition; from requirements development all the way to validation and verification. The chosen candidate will support our modeling and simulation/emulation tool development as well as our post-processing suite of tools.   Work Model

  This position will be a 100% on-site in El Segundo, Ca.

  What You'll Be DoingParticipate in the development and improvement of our networking modeling and simulation suite of tools.Participate in development of data analysis and post-processing tools.Collaborate onsite or remotely with our experienced networking engineers.What Corporate Skills You'll Bring Strong written and oral communication skillsMust work well in a team environmentPossess organizational, time management and project management skillsDemonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needsInterpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizationsWhat You Need to be Successful

  Minimum Requirements:Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's, degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.Minimum GPA of 3.0Fluent proficiency in a programming language. Python and C++ preferred.Proficiency in analytical, simulation, and/or experimental skills.Familiarity with computer networking concepts.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Transcripts required.How You Can Stand Out

  It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:Active Security Clearance.Modeling and Simulation experience.Advanced algorithms coursework.Completed coursework on Networking Systems. Familiarity with OSI model of networking.Completed coursework on Data Analysis.Project experience in tool development.Experience with Agile task management tools.Cloud computing experience.Familiarity with virtualization and containerization concepts.Temporary housing assistance is not available.

  We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

  (Min - Mid - Max)

  $25.00 - $26.00 - $28.00

  Pay Basis: Hourly
