The WY Citizen Science Specialist will contribute to Wyoming TNC's goals of connecting people to the impacts of climate change and adapting to changing management and restoration needs. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to work with diverse partners including educational organizations, natural resource managers, NGOs and/or Tribal members. The candidate should have strong communication skills, particularly in translating science to diverse audiences. The WY Citizen Science Specialist will be responsible for developing a vision and recommendations for how to reach a broader audience, including potentially expanding the Wildflower Watch program, and how to strengthen climate change communications impact in WY.
Specific responsibilities include:
Collect, manage and analyze field and citizen science data.Write scientific reports summarizing methods, results and conclusions.Write grant reports and support the writing of grant proposals.Prepare communications and outreach materials.Engage with donors and represent TNC at community events.Maintain and expand partnerships. Train and manage partners to engage citizen scientists in data collection and climate change education.Work with WY TNC communications, climate change, and science staff to enhance climate change-related messaging.Manage volunteers and interns.This is a two-year term, full-time position, with the potential to extend beyond two years depending on Business Unit needs.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's Degree in science related field and 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience collecting, managing, and analyzing data and writing project reports.Experience in outreach, communications, and partnership development.WHAT WE BRING

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $52,000 - $61,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
