Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment,and clean glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment. Perform cleaningduties, such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipmentand facilities sanitary. Balance receipts and payments in cashregisters. Request and record customer orders, and compute bills, usingcash registers, multi-counting machines, or pencil and paper. Preparedaily food items, and cook simple foods and beverages, such assandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, or coffee, using proper safetyprecautions and sanitary measures. Clean and organize eating, service,and kitchen areas. Serve customers in eating places that specialize infast service and inexpensive carry-out food. Collect and return dirtydishes to the kitchen for washing. Wash dishes, glassware, andsilverware after meals. Wrap menu items such as sandwiches, hot entrees,and desserts for serving or for takeout. Prepare and serve cold drinks,frozen milk drinks, or desserts, using drink-dispensing, milkshake, orfrozen-custard machines. Select food items from serving or storage areasand place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out bags.Replenish foods at serving stations. Take customers\' orders and writeordered items on tickets, giving ticket stubs to customers when neededto identify filled orders.
