JOB PURPOSE:
Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, cost, and revenues. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the position. Works under general supervision to support skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares journal entries, reconciliations, subledgers, and analyzes reports for multiple different business lines.
• Responsible for completion and accuracy of municipal returns (personal, business, occupational, etc.)
• Analyze expenses for accruals.
• Review, approve, and / or code current month account payable invoices.
• Assist with audit preparation.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
• Acts as liaison between facility/agency and corporate office in accounting area.
• Analyzes trend reports and budget vs actual reports and identifies and explains important variances.
• Reconcile and maintain bank accounts.
• Responsible for filing and organization of all appropriate paperwork related to job duties.
• Able to respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned.
• Responsible for completion of all shared spreadsheets in an accurate and timely manner.
• Provide internal requested information in a timely manner.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required.
• 2-4 years' experience in the Healthcare field or related area.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in managing goals through collaboration and teamwork
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
• Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP preferred
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required - ability to create formulas (including V-lookups a plus)
• Excellent attention to detail and computational skills
• Ability to apply strong problem-solving techniques
• Experienced and skilled in reconciliations
