How will you make an impact?
A Sr Global Category Analyst is a key strategic resource of the Category Strategy Team and focused on analyzing a specific category, its spend, the overall suppliers' data, policies, structures, quotes, prepare the negotiations and suggests solutions to our Category Managers and to our Procurement Top Management as they have deep experience in that Indirect Category. They also can present / recommend and consult the Global Cat Teams based on analytics, data and facts. They can create Indirect Procurement strategies, solutions and or Indirect Procurement communications as they have that experience and skills. The Thermo-Fisher Global Category Analysts will be working directly and for the Global Category Cluster Leaders and operate across the 3 regions of Indirect. This roles is very critical to Indirect to continue the current in-flight Initiatives kicked off in 2023, to sustain Value Capture and Productivity into 2024 and beyond. Also, the Sr. Category Analyst provides consultative support to the category and business teams with Value Capture Program Assessment by Category, Indirect Productivity and Synergies Opportunities, KPI analysis, data sourcing and supporting new value generation ideas, incorporating Key external Market Insights and deep Category knowledge, business process optimization for Indirect, Financials (Cost Modeling, Market and Inflation management), Group/Divisions level insights to drive incremental procurement value across the corporation. This is a foundational role that will enable the right candidate to be the single source of information and Financials truth for the Category Financials and for building a career trajectory into Category Management and/or Procurement Business Partnering, through its close working relationship and alignment with both Teams. The Sr. Indirect Category Analyst will drive the Indirect Value Capture Program growth into 2024+, Governance, Rigor and Operating Model across the Business and through Integration of the Indirect Spend Team with the Groups.
The Sr. Indirect Category Analyst reports to the Sr. Director Indirect PMO leader and will support the global Indirect Procurement team with business process and program analytics in support of various strategic spend programs more than ~$700-800M per Cluster of Categories. It will require strong procurement subject matter expertise to effectively structure and analyze complex data sets and a holistic view of all the Category needs in support of the strategic initiatives and process changes required to ensure program compliance, progress and value pull through.
Key Focus areas include development, coordination, preparation of key insights and analytics to further drive incremental Indirect Value. This will require tight partnership and coordination with the indirect category teams, as well as the indirect procurement partners to build solid understanding and subject matter expertise on all key data requirements. It will also require a forward-looking thinking to build insights on future potential based on spend / savings / enterprise and market related data.

Scale of Responsibilities
• Monitor operational Supplier and Business Metrics to deliver the Category objective "Supplier Relationship"
Responsible for managing monthly Value Capture KPI reporting process, monthly communication plan on initiatives impacting the Regions NA, EMEA and APACServes as point of escalation for sites with supplier and program issues; manage resolution with appropriate functions across the Regions and by CategoryDrives process optimization within the Indirect CategoryPerforms analysis to identify value and business case development, through financial and options analysis, identification of required achievements and deliverables, implementation plans and resources required to achieve and ensure projects contribute to the organization.
Reports on key targets, projects, pipeline (with Group/Category visibility), and AOP financial targets, including adoption of a standard tool and processes
Coordinates data inputs across the function to enable key reporting visibility and insightsAnalyze Category Process issues and bottlenecks to make improvementsUses business partner inputs and knowledge of existing systems and constraints to develop standard reporting requirements and drive process improvements for indirect across Countries, Divisions and SitesPerform data discovery, analysis and modelingGather and analyze data for potential business expansion, Category evolution and strategyIdentify specific business opportunities with the various GroupsInfluence stakeholders to support business projectsAssist with project management for selected projects at the Category and sub-Category levelCoordinate with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomesTest business processes and recommend improvementsConvert Indirect Sourcing Roadmaps into smaller user storiesWrite clear and well-structured business requirements/documentsIdentify Continuous improvement opportunitiesDevelops effective communication strategies and deliver executive-level presentations to propose key initiatives, provide critical implementation updates, operational line-of-sight, and demonstrate delivery of value within the organization and with our GPLT stakeholders, Finance and Groups / Divisions
Technical Responsibilities
Supports regulatory compliance activities: internal tracking systems, audit requirements, internal change controls, change management, etc.Collaborates with Site to gather Category Strategy and Sourcing requirements, gain sign-off on supplier selections and awards.Rationalizes and uses the vendor base on a category / program basis, measure and improve internal and external program "compliance" to the corporate contractsConsolidates key data sets to build and deliver actionable insights to the category, division and site teams to drive opportunities.Applies consistent project management approaches and processes, identifies and reports roadblocks and variances to project plans, ensures projects are on schedule and achieve stated objectives.Tracks and monitors timely completion of project targets within the portfolio, plan vs. actual and report that progress as required.Orchestrates project governance, including regular cadence of PMO sessions (schedule, prepare for, run, and drive follow-ups for key meetings)Uses PPI business systems and processes to drive continuous improvement.
Leadership Responsibilities
Coordinates with team members to identify and document resource constraints / risks / help needed.Influences key partners to achieve key targets on time and within plan, develop relationships within the company to complete assigned projects.Facilitates breakthrough thinking by integrating diverse views while participating in targeted content deep dive sessions to enable problem solving.Collaborates with Procurement Enablement on reporting cadences to achieve a single source of truth for the savings pipeline and inflation.

Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in business analysis, business administration, finance or related fieldCertification in Project Management is desirable.
Experience
5+ years of procurement / category management experience3+ years' experience of negotiation skills and formulating the business requirements for a commercial trade contract2+ years of Consulting or Sr Business Analyst experienceMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in commodity sourcing or direct project sourcing and management or purchasing and commercial managementExperience from a project management role under a consultancy organization or a facility manager role under a multinational company is desiredExperience with best-cost sourcing across NA, EMEA and APAC (Global Categories experience required).
