As a solution engineer, you will be working in complex projects dealing with the integration of a diversity of systems like: Automation and subsystem software, S7 PLC’s, HMI systems, interfaces, drive systems and sensor systems. A typical project lasts for a year or 2 and is realized with development / design in The Netherlands & Germany, followed by pre-commissioning in, for example China, and is finalized at the end customer location. Relocation to The Netherlands is necessary for this role.
You’ll make an impact by
Actively participate in the development of automation solutions for harbor cranes.
Design and prepare integrated software solutions to interface with various subsystems according to the requirements.
Able to read and create operational and functional flowcharts.
Track, document and report development progress regularly.
Perform Integral functional tests and acceptance tests together with client.
Support or Perform commissioning at location globally.
Participate in our lean approach to project engineering by identifying efficiencies in what we do.
For our clients you act as a connecting element between engineering, maintenance IT and operations.
About Siemens
Siemens Cranes is one of the global key players in the crane electrification and automation business. More than 5000 container cranes world-wide are driven by Siemens automation technology. One of our latest developments is fully automated harbor cranes and since the first fully automated Siemens terminals are operational we will use and improve this blueprint to automate other terminals worldwide.
Your success is grounded in
a sharp technical mindset and great communication skills combined with an ambition to work on projects that require global travel.
You are enthusiastic about working in the industrial automation of machines, container cranes and terminals.
Bachelor or Master in Electrical engineering, Industrial automation, Mechatronics or similar.
At least 3 years experience in complex (automation) projects/ in an engineering environment
Knowledge of / experience with SIMATIC S7 programming languages.
Business fluent in English.
Knowledge of .Net application is a preference, as well as: C++, C#, SQL.
