JOB DUTIES: Cover breaking news with speed and accuracy. Disseminate information on our worldwide terminal network to our international customer base. Report on activities that impact the global economy, to provide the context within which our clients must make critical financial decisions. Write breaking news and feature stories on the financial industry, various financial markets, specific companies, and global economies, in addition to geopolitics and diplomacy, with analysis as needed. Write original, feature-length stories, lean on existing sources and develop new ones to generate intelligent, impactful news. Verify the accuracy of questionable facts and obtain supplemental material and additional details from appropriate sources. Conduct interviews with knowledgeable and pertinent sources, and write stories conforming to specified content, style, and format requirements. Collaborate with reporters and editors. Represent the team and Bloomberg News at events and participate in or moderate panel discussions that add value for clients and attendees. Mentor and support new employees, interns, and rotators.JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Journalism, English, Communications, Political Science, or related and one (1) year of experience in the job offered, as a Reporter or related.Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills: Working in a real-time news environment; Building and developing an industry beat and overseeing / maintaining responsibility for coverage of that specific beat; and developing and writing feature stories, source development, and breaking news.RATE OF PAY: $124,000 - $140,000 / year
