What You'll Do
This is a job that performs moderately complex (journey-level) program management work for the Projects Development program. Assists both, international and domestic businesses, and their representatives, in the site selection process through the dissemination of leads and project requirements to qualified Texas economic development organizations and coordinating project development with the regional specialistsresulting in the creation of new jobs and investment in Texas.
Oversees the management of the Projects Development program and team by defining goals, objectives, and controls.Manages program planning to include the development, implementation, and documentation of processes.Identifies program requirements and establishes methodology to measure the effectiveness of agency initiatives; identifies program gaps and proposes improvements or enhancements.Ensures that program decisions are made in accordance with program requirements; other applicable rules, policies, and procedures; and the agency's strategic objectives.Manages a portfolio of projects, provides training, prioritizes the work of Projects Development team members, leads regular meetings on projects and activities, manages measures, and communicates updates to policies, processes, or guidance.Meets regularly with the Business and Community Development Director and Deputy Director to review team progress, processes, and program initiatives.Manages the program's communications with stakeholders to ensure they are accurately and appropriately informed of program updates.How You'll Qualify
Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in program management relevant to economic development.Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business, international trade,
economics, economic development, urban or regional planning, commercial real estate, political science, government, marketing, communications, or a related field.
The completion of Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC).<
