NOTE: This posting is for 2 positions - 1 leading the Regional Broker Managers (RBM) in the Western half of the U.S. and 1 leading the Eastern half
Responsible for the national growth of Brokerage Influenced Commercial and Public sector sales in partnership with the Vice President of Sales (VPS) and Colonial Life’s Career Distribution Channel. Growth will come from Brokerage, Commercial, Public Sector, and Premier Clients.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Increase profitable Broker influenced (BI) Public Sector & Commercial and Brokerage sales growth in partnership with the Colonial Life sales organization and home office business partners
Increase the number of NEW BI Public Sector and Commercial accounts and NEW producing brokers
Act as a strategic business partner in presentations for potential and existing customers
Create and execute business plans that align with goals of the Territory Sales Managers and the company
Develop the Colonial Life sales hierarchy in the areas of Public Sector, Brokerage, and the Colonial Life value proposition.
Ensure appropriate distribution alignment between Colonial Life’s field organization and national broker partner offices
Utilize Colonial Life’s overall Value proposition to educate brokers on our expertise in the public sector, commercial, brokerage, and large case markets
Cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Manage and participate in broker meetings, forums, and lunch & learns within assigned region
Evaluate potential MAP, Worksite Specialist, Finance Rep, and HO visit requests within assigned region. Work with VPS, Territory Sales Manager and AVP of Broker Market Development to approve or decline request.
Create visibility in the market by participating in broker focused and Public Sector strategic partner events, conferences and tradeshows within their region
Partner with home office to coordinate and host home office visits in the Customer Suite – to be defined
Accountability for frequent, consistent communication to VPS Partners regarding the effectiveness of RBM in territory activity
Adhere to company’s expectation regarding budget and expense management
May perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
8 + years of Benefits Broker sales/marketing experience, preferably in voluntary benefits
Strong people leadership experience, including demonstrated development of others
Experience leading geographically diverse teams preferred
Strong ability to communicate, influence, and persuade others
Strong problem solving, planning, and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to travel 75 - 85% of the time
Strong Organization skills preferred
