About IP Litigation Associate - Technology

  Venable LLP's Intellectual Property Group seeks a midlevel patent litigation associate with a minimum of five years of experience to join the practice in the Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, or Washington, D.C. office.

  The qualified candidate has a background in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field. The successful candidate has extensive experience in all phases of patent litigation, including first-chairing depositions, writing expert reports, drafting and arguing motions, drafting infringement/invalidity concerns, and arguing appeals. Industry experience is beneficial. The client focus areas for this role include telecommunications, automotive and other high tech industries. Candidates must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction's bar.   Venable's IP Litigation team is comprised of seasoned trial lawyers who have the technical knowledge required to tackle complex IP disputes, including patent, trademark, and copyright litigation, as well as Section 337 investigations. Our team has successfully represented innovators, patent holders, and brand owners in federal courts, before the International Trade Commission (ITC), in administrative proceedings, and in arbitration and mediation across the country. We offer clients a depth and breadth of experience that sets our firm apart from many general-practice firms and intellectual property boutiques.

  The salary range for associate positions is $205,000 to $365,000 per year, depending upon associate level.
