Leidos is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to support on a new, multi-year contract for systems engineering, integration, software and mobile development modernize program.
This position will be responsible for performing design and development engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems, which includes the development or enhancement of new products and/or updates to existing products. Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain. Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.
Providing preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication and providing design information to drafting for packaging documentation. Provides design, testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of devices or equipment.May be responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets, schedules, and documentation of work and results.Develop/update life cycle management processes for new and existing systems. Other duties will include supporting the engineering change process and other duties as assigned.Analyzes existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.Develops and prepares site and hardware installation schedules, supplying subsequent test reports.Prepares drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.Adds, deletes, and modifies; as required, host, terminal, and network devices including specialized interconnecting cables as needed.Ensures products and systems comply with requirements and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methodsParticipates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirementsAssist in reviewing technical related acquisition documentation and activitiesIdentify integration issues and coordinate and participate in Technical Exchange Meetings to resolve themReviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements
Basic Qualifications
Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph to be considered for this role.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12-15 years of related experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degreeUnderstanding of RF communicationsDemonstrated experience leading technical teams to develop/implement hardware/software requirementsEmbedded Systems and wireless communication experienceExperience/knowledge in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF communicationsExperience with high level system design and system engineering processes for hardware-based solutionsAbility to distill high level requirements into system requirementsFamiliarity with print circuit board design and PCB design processFamiliarity with design processesFamiliarity with integration and programmingFamiliarity with power supply designFamiliarity with component, PCB, and system level test including environmental testing
Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
