Abe Martin Lodge:
Located just outside Nashville, Indiana, Abe Martin Lodge is nestled in the picturesque hills of Indiana’s largest state park, Brown County State Park. The lodge features 84 guest rooms, the Little Gem Restaurant, cabins, an indoor water park, and over 6,000 square feet of banquet/conference space.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $15.23.
Role Overview:
Responsible for total operations at the front desk and night audit. Ensures all standards of operations are met. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of front desk/night audit staff. Oversees reservation process and controls room inventory. Ensures all required paperwork is completed. Maintains front desk cash handling compliance. Ensure all front desk/night audit agents are consistently performing their duties properly.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Supervise and assist with check-ins and check-outs to assure the efficiency and friendliness of front desk agents to achieve total guest satisfaction.
Ensures daily shift checklist is completed, including guest callbacks.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains front desk/night audit staff.
Responsible for continuous training, evaluation, discipline, and morale of the front desk personnel. Including training of the park, community, hotel, amenities, and selling strategies.
Monitor room availability to achieve maximum occupancy levels and strive for sellouts.
Ensures all cash handling and accounting procedures are complied with.
Monitors individual performance and corrects deficiencies.
Upholds standards of operation at the front desk. Ensures that all guest demands are met effectively and efficiently.
Responsible for room inventory management and attempts to maximize occupancy and average rate.
Schedules personnel to meet the demands of the current forecast. Assists in coverage of the front desk.
Implements and utilizes a progressive discipline format to correct any shortcomings of individual performance.
Teaches personnel of basic emergency procedures.
Supervise and when needed assist with night audit duties.
Tracks and addresses performance and attendance of front desk agents.
Maintains an active role in problem resolution and attempts to solve the root source problem.
Eliminates top complaints in the front desk operation.

What You'll Need for Success:
Degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience in supervision of personnel
Above-average interpersonal skills
Strong planning and organizational abilities
Front Desk experience is required
Enthusiastic, outgoing personality
