OverviewABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's New Jersey Site Investigation & Remediation practice has a need for an Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice. The professional will help develop and manage effective site investigation, remediation and due diligence investigative programs. The professional should be comfortable working in the office and field and have an understanding of and experience with the New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) program including NJDEP Rules and Guidance, NYSDEC a plus. Response activities may include mentoring junior team members and direct Client communication.
Responsibilities
Develop, perform, and/or manage preliminary assessment/Phase I and effective site investigation and remediation field programs
Provide hands-on support during field exploration and testing; travel to jobsites throughout NJ and NY. Interpret and communicate investigation findingsLeverage technology to support data management and visualization Write technical and regulatory reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda Mentors and may supervise junior team members Skills and Attributes
Work in field in a variety of climates year round without restrictions and office settingsEffectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clientsRecognize and manage business riskExcellent planning and organizational skills Ability to perform under pressure and within established deadlinesProblem solve and work independentlyQualifications
B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field of study Master's Degree preferred (a master's degree may be substituted for 1 year of experience)3-5 years of environmental remediation consulting experience required5-8 years of environmental remediation consulting experience preferredOSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications requiredProfessional licensure or on track to obtain preferred (PG, PE, LSRP)
