We are seeking a full-time Environmental Engineer for our Ft. Collins, COoperations.
Response, assessment, and evaluation services (RAES) are parts of alarger program associated with abandoned mines. The selected candidate willsupport the program in the following areas:
Lead a team of engineers and scientists in the development of designs requiredto implement removal and remedial actions for cleanup of abandoned uraniummines.
Perform engineering design, develop plans, specifications, and costestimating.
Conduct constructability evaluation of design with contractors.
Serve as an engineering resource for construction oversight of contractorsimplementing designs.
Support pilot studies of new technologies and approaches for mine clean up.
Provide constructability input on engineering alternative evaluations forremoval and remedial actions at abandoned uranium mines.
Communicate with client regularly about design, plans, specifications;client and contractor clarifications during construction; and constructionoversight crew clarifications.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of at least 25+ years relevantexperience. You will also have experience with / be:Comprehensive CERCLA knowledgeRI/FS experienceCompleting engineering cost estimatesFamiliar with heavy equipment, construction means and methods, andmanagement activities.Engineering design and construction oversightExperience in southwestern United States with mining and mine reclamation,uranium mining and mills including interaction with regulatory agenciesWork on tribal lands.
Degree / CertificationsBS in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.Professional Engineer (PE) is Required.40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and 30-hour OSHA construction safety trainingare a plus.
Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily desk work; however, some field work will occurand requires regular and recurring work in variable outdoor environments,packing heavy equipment, and excavations using hand tools. A physicalcapacity for working outdoors, often in isolated areas, is required. Youmust be able to:Travel occasionally (15%) out into the field. The field work isanticipated to be in remote areas of Arizona and New Mexico.Work outside in all weather conditions, both hot and cold.Walk uneven terrain.Carry field equipment (35 to 40 pounds).Don personal protective gear as needed.Ability to work at a desk for office based tasks.You must be able drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record(MVR) background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and gooddriving record is required.
The Salary Range for this position is $80,000 - $150,000, dependingon education, experience, skills, and location.
