This position is responsible for overseeing the entirety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems throughout various construction projects. The role involves meticulous planning, supervision, and maintenance of these systems during project execution. The MEP Engineer ensures that all technical aspects conform to industry standards and project specifications, conducting comprehensive inspections and overseeing testing and commissioning processes. By providing strategic solutions to engineering challenges, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless operation and compliance of MEP systems, aligning with stringent quality and safety standards.
The work of assignment for this role will be in Dili, East Timor.
Key responsibilities:
Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
Places conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pulls insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer
Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous; and
Provides preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualification to be successful in the role:
A high school diploma or equivalent required
At least 5 years of experience in the construction field
Must have an Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II or other related construction certificates
Must have vast knowledge and ability in electric installation and repair
Knowledge of different kinds of installation
Must have a wide knowledge of repairing electric circuits
