Job Overview
Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.Facilitates risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Works with the plant leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.Determines appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.Supports creation of EHS goals for the plant manager and appropriate activity based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.Support element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the EHS elements.Drives and promotes zero-incident EHS culture throughout the site.Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.Works with the leadership team and EHS element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance with local regulations.Uses established EHS data processes such as Velocity to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items, and other pertinent information.Create training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion.Work with the site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.Work on EHS compliance with legal and other requirements associated with regulatory, local, and other requirements.Supervise onsite contractors' EHS activities to ensure compliance with the EHS Permit requirement.Work on Velocity to track and trend EHS data and utilize the Safety Data Sheet database to have accurate chemical inventory information.Work with the EHS manager to prepare, submit, and distributes required reports in compliance with regulatory agencies to ensure timely submittals.Monitor and follow EHS law and regulatory revisions and report to the EHS manager for actions required.Advises and counsels other departments with regard to regulatory compliance issues and keeps them informed of any changes or EHS program enhancements to ensure that other departments are able to make informed decisions with regard to EHS issuesDrive the Emergency Response Team to coordinate emergency response efforts.Act as Pollution Control Officer of the plant and follows duties and responsibilities of the PCO in compliance with DAO 2014-02.Act as Safety Officer of the plant and follows duties and responsibilities of the Safety Officer base on RA 11058 and DO-198-18 compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standard.Assist EHS Manager to complete the EHS Task list on time related to project expansions. This includes support to Management of Change deployment, training, and permits applications and follow-ups to regulatory agencies.
What your background should look like:
College degree, major in Environmental, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Civil Engineering.1 to 3 years or more working experience in Environment Health and Safety RolesActual experience as Safety Officer or Pollution Control Officer role is an advantage.Experience in working with multinational companies locally or in abroad.Comfortable speaking and writing English at all levels of the organization.
