The Role at a Glance
This position provides leadership, direction, and functional expertise on complex projects/initiatives for their assigned area(s) of responsibility with a primary focus on Strategic Reinsurance objectives. They will provide comprehensive actuarial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership for their assigned area(s).

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Identitfes and directs strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
Directs, establishes and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental results for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
Directs and evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility
Provides strategic leadership and direction to continually improve the capability and results for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Ensures that top talent is hired and retained for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Builds organizational capability within his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Contributes to the strategy development for actuarial issues/concern for their assigned area(s) of responsibilities.
Directs and provides subject matter expertise for the development, analysis, and design of actuarial reinsurance scenarios.
Identifies and leads actuarial projects having a broad impact to the enterprise. Presents actuarial recommendations to various levels of management and other stakeholders serving as a subject matter expert.
Directs the on-going evaluation of reinsurance transactions, provides actuarial analysis, and recommends appropriate actions to protect the risk and profitability of the organization
Provides subject matter expertise on highly complex actuarial models and assumption development and suggests new ways of managing risk.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders as they relate to reinsurance strategy
What we’re looking for
4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
10+ Years of experience in actuarial science and/or reinsurance that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of this position, including 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience.
FSA designation or ASA designation with considerable additional years of experience
Life, LTC, and Annuity product knowledge and general insurance/business knowledge
Familiarity with international accounting frameworks
Comprehensive knowledge of the use and application of reinsurance
Comprehensive knowledge of reinsurance concepts and contractual terms
Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: Making suggestions for improvement, Learning new skills, procedures and processes

Pay Range: $120,600 - $220,100
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
