About the Team
The Communications team tells the story of how DoorDash empowers local economies by connecting customers to the best of their communities. The team is a collaborative group with important partners, touching every corner of the organization. A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and out-of-the-box thinking, coupled with a true team spirit and the ability to juggle projects and priorities, are what makes this group so effective. A role on this team will require experience in media relations, policy communications and issues management.
About the Role
The Associate, Public Affairs Communications role will support the Public Affairs team’s work to tell the story of how DoorDash empowers local economies, Dashers, merchants, partners, and consumers. Your day-to-day will vary with duties ranging from support for a major announcement with cross-functional stakeholders to pitching local media stories on our work in the community to drafting and keeping resources for cross-functional partners up to date. You will report into the Head of Social Impact Communications on our Public Affairs team in our Policy and Communications organization and also have significant exposure to our Policy and Trust and Dasher Experience pods. We expect this role to be hybrid with some time in-office and some time remote.

Work closely with the Public Affairs Communications team, as well as the Public Engagement, Government Relations, Policy Research, and Social Impact teams, to help develop and communicate the DoorDash story, demonstrating our support for merchants, Dashers and consumers in the communities we serve.
Spearhead “always-on” communications that tells the story of merchants, Dashers, partners, and consumers in local markets.
Support and, occasionally, manage federal and state public affairs campaigns and local proactive earned media efforts, from planning to executing to reporting back results.
Draft, edit and manage earned and owned communications materials including editorial calendars, press releases, pitches, blog posts, coverage reports, and media lists, to support a wide array of company and policy news, from new initiative announcements to reactive media messaging.
Track communications projects in motion and maintain up-to-date status in a fast-moving business environment.
Identify emerging topics and trends or industry happenings to leverage.
Work with Policy and Comms teams to create and update a variety of collateral to aid in our stakeholder engagement efforts.

You have a bachelor's degree or higher.
You have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in communications, PR, or journalism.
You’re interested in and have an understanding of public policy and the role of public affairs in support of communications, policy, and business objectives.
You are self-motivated with strong organizational skills, analytical talent and attention to detail.
You have experience flourishing in fast-paced, fluid and challenging environments.
You are able to work effectively and cross-functionally with multiple constituents, including peers and senior management.
You possess excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives under tight deadlines.
You take your work, but not yourself, seriously—and maintain a good sense of humor about both.

Compensation
The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

$100,000—$150,000 USD
