Position Overview:
The Siemens EDA Global Support team is seeking a dynamic, support engineer for the Xpedition Enterprise tools suite. Building on EDA experience and PCB design skills, this individual will work directly with internal and external customers to resolve tool issues, partner with account teams to educate users and grow product usage and create knowledge content for the web-based support portal.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following activities:
Proactively help customers quickly become productive with Xpedition PCB design tools.
Help customers achieve project deadlines by providing support by phone, electronic means or on-site.
Engage with existing customers to understand and provide guidance for their PCB design methodology.
Assist account teams with struggling customers to overcome challenges.
Interface with customers and Electronic Board Systems engineering and provide feedback in both directions.
Regularly participate in meetings and conference calls with customers, both internal and external.
Work as part of the account team to develop solutions for customer issues and take an active role to communicate these solutions to the customer.
Capture knowledge for web-based support systems in the form of articles, white papers and videos.
Provide pro-active customer feedback into product marketing and engineering to drive improvement and future evolution of the product line.
Actively participate in marketing and sales activities such as, workshops, seminars, etc.
Provide first line support for all tools in the Xpedition tool suite.
Support coverage focused on the western United States, collaborating with the worldwide team.
Required Qualifications:
Broad knowledge in electrical system design.
Detailed understanding of PCB design tools such as Xpedition Enterprise, Cadence Allegro, Altium or similar.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently but collaboratively and to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving product and technical environment.
Ability to build strong rapport and credibility with customers’ organizations while maintaining an internal network of contacts.
Manage multiple tasks and customer issues concurrently.
Strong technical communication skills and presentation skills.
BSEE or BSME, 5+ years of electrical system design experience desired.
US citizenship or permanent residency, located in the USA.
Preferred Qualifications
Detailed knowledge of the ECAD Library development and design data management. Siemens Xpedition Enterprise EDM preferred.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and C#
Strong project management and communication skills – both written and verbal. Prior project management experience a plus
Prior role in team leadership
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Role will be hybrid with some flexibility in location.
Will support discussions in various time zones, so virtual meetings outside of home time zone will sometimes be necessary.
This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range for this position is $82,900 to $149,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
